v1.2.2

πFeature

Pi Agent Support & Session-First Notifications

Sessions from the Pi coding agent join Claude Code and Codex, locally and over SSH, with the same transcripts, cost, search, resume and MCP tools. Notifications now lead with the session name, and the lock screen keeps transcript text to itself.

  • Sessions from the Pi coding agent, local and remote, with transcripts, cost, search, resume and the MCP tools
  • Notifications lead with the session name; the project sits underneath and the body says what happened
  • With previews hidden, the lock screen shows only the kind of event, never a session name or transcript text
  • actvt-cli 0.4.0 lists Pi sessions on remote hosts; re-run the install command to pick it up

v1.2.1

✏️Feature

Session Renames, Remote Shells & Live Remote Transcripts

Name sessions yourself, jump into a remote project folder from the session list, and watch remote transcripts move without re-opening them. Remote hosts that go quiet stay on screen instead of vanishing.

  • Rename any session, local or remote, from the transcript title or the list's right-click menu
  • Open a shell on a remote host in the session's project folder, or copy the SSH command
  • Remote transcripts refresh as the session moves on, with a button to fetch the latest on demand
  • A remote host that misses a poll keeps its sessions on screen, marked with when they were last synced; hosts that keep failing are retried less often
  • Settings → Agents shows last sync and CLI version per host, distinguishes not installed, failed and unreachable, and has a Sync now button
  • The Linux actvt-cli is a static build and now runs on Amazon Linux 2023 and RHEL 9
  • The MCP transcript tool reads remote sessions when given a host

v1.2.0

🖥️Feature

Resume in Your Own Terminal & tmux Focus

Resume opens the terminal your agents already run in — Ghostty, iTerm2, WezTerm, kitty, Alacritty or Terminal.app — and Focus Window finds sessions living inside tmux panes.

  • Resume in Terminal opens the terminal you actually use: Ghostty, iTerm2, WezTerm, kitty and Alacritty join Terminal.app, matched automatically or picked in Settings → Agents
  • Focus Window finds sessions running inside tmux, switches to the pane and brings its window forward, including named sockets and multiple servers
  • Copy a session's ID from the inspector or the right-click menu — it is what claude --resume and the MCP tools ask for
  • The Claude usage card refreshes an expired token in place, and says so when a token can never read usage instead of asking you to sign in again
  • Fixed: resumed sessions no longer open behind the windows you already had, and resume works when your shell is fish
  • Fixed: no more notifications for a tmux session you are already watching

v1.1.8

📈Feature

Context Meter, Burn Rate & Port Ownership

See how full a session's context window is before it compacts, what a run is costing per hour, and which agent session is behind every listening port.

  • See how full a live session's context is, in the list and the inspector; the menu bar speaks up once a session passes 70% of its window
  • Get warned before a session fills up: turn on Context filling in Settings → Notifications and pick a threshold that re-arms after each compaction
  • Burn rate: what a run is costing per hour, measured over its last five minutes of activity
  • Spend at a glance in the Overview: today, the last 7 days and the last 30 days, each next to your own average for that window
  • Ports say who opened them: the agent session and project behind each listening port, marked Orphaned once that session ends, with an optional notification
  • Export any session list as CSV or JSON, with the filters you applied
  • Add extra session directories in Settings → Agents for Claude Code projects kept outside the default location

v1.1.7

🔍Feature

Meaning Search & Agent-Aware MCP Tools

Find a session by what it was about rather than the words it used, with a model that runs entirely on your Mac. Agents can now check your plan limits, see what is running right now, and search by the files a session touched.

  • Meaning search: ask for "the session where I fixed the flaky login test" and find it even when none of those words appear (free on every tier)
  • Runs fully on-device with a ~60 MB model downloaded once, only if you turn it on — nothing leaves your Mac
  • New agent_usage_limits MCP tool: session and weekly windows spent, reset times, per-model limits, and pay-as-you-go credits
  • Session queries can return only sessions with a live process, and the working directory each is in
  • Find every session that touched a given file
  • Search results quote the matching text, so you can pick the right session without opening it
  • Fixed: forked and resumed sessions no longer double-count the history they inherit, so cost totals are correct

v1.1.6

🔔Feature

Notification Pace, Grouping & Agent-Written Alerts

Decide how often ACTVT interrupts you. Repeats from one project arrive as a single summary, projects can be muted from the notification itself, and agents can now say in their own words why they stopped.

  • Notification pace — Instant, Balanced, or Relaxed — in Settings → General
  • Repeats from one project group into a single summary, so a scheduled re-run no longer floods Notification Center
  • Mute a project from the notification for an hour or a day; mutes expire on their own and are listed in Settings
  • Notifications say what the agent needs: the tool awaiting permission, or the question it ended on
  • Agents can notify you themselves through the MCP server's agent_notify tool, free on every tier
  • Agents on remote hosts can notify you too via actvt-cli notify, with the same mutes and grouping
  • Licenses keep working for up to 30 days offline and re-verify in the background

v1.1.5

📡Feature

Remote Sessions, Machine Switcher & Live Status

See agent sessions running on your other machines, including headless Linux boxes. Adds on-demand remote transcripts, a machine switcher, and session dots backed by real process state.

  • List Claude Code and Codex CLI sessions on other machines over SSH (any paid tier)
  • One-line CLI install on remote hosts (curl -fsSL https://actvt.io/install-cli.sh | sh)
  • Machine switcher with a merged, clock-skew-corrected All timeline
  • Tap-through remote transcripts with local PII masking (needs actvt-cli 0.2.0 or newer)
  • Resume remote sessions in Terminal, or copy the resume command
  • Machines section in the session browser
  • Live status dots backed by real process state, with a new waiting-for-input state
  • New agent_remote_sessions MCP tool
  • Claude Desktop transcript coverage

v1.1

🛰️Feature

AI Agent Session Observability

Bring your AI coding agents into ACTVT. Monitor every Claude Code and Codex CLI session with a dedicated observability dashboard — token usage, spend, cache efficiency, and tool activity — all indexed and searchable on your Mac.

  • Monitor Claude Code and Codex CLI sessions
  • Overview dashboard: token usage, estimated spend, cache hit ratio, and tool-error rate
  • Per-project and daily activity breakdowns
  • Full-text search across sessions and transcripts
  • Filter and sort sessions; resume a session from the terminal
  • On-device PII detection — fully local
  • Turn-by-turn transcript viewer

v1.0.7

🎨Improvement

Menu Bar Polish & Stability

A round of visual refinement and reliability fixes, including a menu bar icon that adapts to its surroundings and refreshed branding across both themes.

  • Menu bar icon color now adapts to the background
  • Refreshed branding colors across light and dark themes
  • Fixed a crash when opening Activity Monitor

v1.0.6

🔌Feature

Port & Process Monitoring

See exactly what's running on your ports and take action right from ACTVT, with a process-grouped overview and safe termination controls.
